The Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency, Prince Adedamola Docemo, has said the agency is expecting about 500 participants at its Out-Of-Home Advertising and Exhibition Conference in Lagos this week.

Docemo, who disclosed this at a press conference, explained that the event would seek to find solutions to some of the issues affecting the OOH industry with a view to bringing them under the spotlight, particularly as they affect the Smart City plans of the Lagos State Government.

He noted that the two-day event would bring together key players in the signage and out-of-home advertising industry under one roof to discuss issues affecting the future of outdoor advertising in Lagos State and the country in general.

He said the main objective of the conference was for the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who would be the special guest of honour, to gain the confidence of all stakeholders and investing public through the policies and programmes of LASAA.

This, he said, would help to improve sectoral investment, drive sustainable growth, encourage regular engagement and assist in the development of Lagos State.

Docemo said, “The OOH industry has evolved over time and has consistently contributed its quota to the growth and development of the state, with Lagos being the leading state in the OOH advertising investment in the country.

He noted that the administration of extant policies had reversed the OOH advertising industry from the erstwhile atmosphere of streetscape disorder, distrust, favoritism and unfair practices to an environment where sanity and equity prevailed.

He said, “OOH advertising in Lagos now offers new technologies, new formats and more creative thinking to help advertisers and their agencies take their message to consumers.”

Docemo added that it had become imperative to be in the forefront of any discourse which accelerated the growth and stimulated future investments of the sub-sector.
