Light Up the World for Peace on International Peace Day

The World Out-of-Home Organization (WOO) is proud to support "Essays for Peace", a powerful global initiative uniting the world through a simple yet evocative symbol: a lit candle.

On September 21st, International Peace Day, "Essays for Peace" invites everyone to participate by replacing screen content with the image of a lit candle for five minutes, at either noon or midnight local time. This transcends language, politics, and cultural backgrounds. The flickering flame represents a universal yearning for peace, a silent plea for global solidarity.

WOO Members Can Make a Difference:

We've already secured the participation of 15,000 screens in 40 cities, and we're calling on all WOO members to join us! Donate five minutes of your screen time on September 21st, either at noon or midnight. Together, we aspire to expand this initiative exponentially, reaching every continent and city, creating a truly worldwide moment of peace and reflection.

Here's how to participate:

Building on the Success of 2021:

In 2021, "Essays for Peace" made a significant impact with a pilot project in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For five nights, 19 screens displayed the image of a lit candle, capturing the attention of thousands. This year, we aim to expand this powerful message to a global audience, and your participation is essential to achieving this goal.

Together, let's create a global moment of unity and hope for peace.
