Urban Vision Group presents

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Urban Vision Group launches “Walls Can't Talk. You Can.”, an awareness campaign that brings into public space what is too often hidden in private. While the common perception attributes potential danger to public spaces, the data tell a different truth: 74 % of gender based violence occurs behind the walls of the home, in the place that should be the safest.

The multi subject campaign, scheduled on Urban Vision Group’s DOOH network, aligns with the architectural lines of the buildings undergoing restoration—the covering sheet that faithfully reproduces every element, including the rows of windows. It is within this silent symmetry that Urban Vision Group’s Maxi Urban Led screens light up, displaying an open window inside which a domestic violence episode is unfolding. With the tagline “Many women are not afraid to go out. But to go in,” the campaign flips the prevailing view of safety and invites us to look beyond an often apparent calmness.

The goal? To open a path and stir consciences.

Fighting to eliminate violence against women is everyone's responsibility, not only those who experience it. When faced with a suspected abuse we must speak up, report, and not remain silent or indifferent to what we hear or see.

“In Urban Vision we have been working for many years on gender violence issues, because it is not merely a social emergency: it is a deep wound that cuts across our communities and requires responsibility, continuity and courage,” says Gianluca De Marchi, CEO of Urban Vision Group. “It is a cause we support with conviction and passion. Opening a window means breaking a cultural silence, inviting everyone to look at what we often choose not to see. If walls cannot speak, then we must do it, every day, using urban communication to give voice to those who have none and to affirm, clearly, that women’s dignity and safety concern each of us.”

With "Walls Can't Talk. You Can," Urban Vision Group continues its commitment to promoting gender equality, rethinking urban communication as a language that speaks to society and not just to consumers.
