CHINA: Guangzhou, the Tier-one City in south China, is enforcing the new OOH Regulations

The new OOH Regulation divides the entire Guangzhou city into three zones according to the functions of different areas of the city.  Outdoor advertising will be banned in the most regulated zone; and the remaining two zones are gradually relaxed.  The key commercial and shopping areas allow more outdoor advertising in terms of quantity and variety of formats.

The Regulation also makes requirements on the location, quantity, and style of outdoor advertising. Outdoor advertising should be integrated into the urban landscape as much as possible, especially not to destroy the city's skyline.

In addition, more detailed regulations will be applied to the OOH digital screens.  The OOH digital screens can only be set up in major commercial/shopping areas, and the broadcast hours are limited to 7:30 to 22:30 daily.  Various parameters of the OOH digital screens are also specified in detail.

The new Regulation will be valid for a period of 5 years, that is 2020 to 2025.
