Grand Visual's Samantha Filek to Lead All-Women Convoy to Ukraine

Samantha Filek is a Junior Full Stack developer at Grand Visual and has recently returned from maternity leave. As if this isn’t enough to keep her busy, she has also committed to driving a second-hand 4x4 (or ambulance) to Lviv, Ukraine in March 2026.

Sam will be taking part in this mission with a friend and co-driver through Driving Ukraine, a British charity that delivers life-saving vehicles directly to the front line. These vehicles are used by Ukrainian combat medics to evacuate wounded soldiers - often under fire - where access to a reliable vehicle can mean the difference between life and death.

This particular convoy is especially meaningful. It will be an all-women convoy, marking International Women’s Day, and the vehicles we donate will be handed directly to women combat medics - extraordinary individuals saving lives in unimaginably difficult conditions.

To make this possible, we need to raise at least £7,000, which will cover:

  • The purchase of a suitable 4x4 or ambulance
  • Preparing it for casualty evacuation
  • Driving it 1,318 miles from the UK to Lviv
  • Filling it with medical supplies and humanitarian aid

Driving Ukraine is a highly experienced organisation, having already delivered 200+ vehicles across more than 50 convoys. They manage the logistics and handover - all we need to do now is raise the funding.

If the team exceed their target, additional funds will allow them to secure a better vehicle and potentially purchase a jamming device to help protect it from radio-controlled drone attacks.

If you’d like to support this mission, you can donate or read more about the team’s journey here:

Please don’t feel any pressure -but if this cause resonates with you, any contribution or share is genuinely appreciated.

One vehicle. Delivered. Lives saved.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for considering helping us help Ukraine.
