Reflections on our Seoul APAC Forum - the biggest and best ever?

Reflections on our Seoul APAC Forum - the biggest and best ever?

So I'm now back in England struggling a little with jet lag following what was undoubtedly our most successful Regional Forum.

The final tally was 459 delegates from 31 different countries - record numbers for this sold out forum with the vast majority of delegates coming from the APAC region.

As the dust settles I think the think I will best remember is the overwhelming friendliness and hospitality of the Korean people, in particular Chang-Hoon Woo, Chairman of the Korean OOH Association, Hyun Lee from Seoul-Incheon Airport or OOH's own K-Pop superstar Daewon Kim. Their support in the run up and during the forum was both exceptional and unforgettable. They even managed to get WOO adverts on some of Seoul's biggest OOH inventory!

WOO National Associations Meeting Seoul 2025

But there was much more to remember. The forum hit a high standard from the start with the Associations meeting held Wednesday and chaired by Charles Parry Okeden. It was great to see the level of camaraderie amongst the attendees and how willing everyone was to share and learn for each others experiences. These meetings continue to be a highlight whether at Forums or Congresses.

The speaker programme did not disappoint with Tom Goddard President of WOO declaring OOH as the 'last heroic medium', a fitting rallying cry to start proceedings. Other memorable speakers included the two key notes including former JCDecaux Board Member, Daniel Hofer's insightful presentation on key OOH success factors across international markets and Cheil Worldwide EVP and Head of Solution Division, Hun Choi who talked about an OOH Renaissance in his thought-provoking presentation. There was a great mix of both Global and APAC speakers and panellists covering a whole range of issues relevant to OOH. Also, Charles Parry-Okeden's The Power behind OOH Industry Growth – National Associations,  built on the progress made in the meeting the day before and Dino Burbidge as always didn't disappoint with a great presentation on 'Unlocking the Creative Code'.

Audience Measurement Panel

But it wasn't just the presentations that stood out. The Audience Measurement panel skilfully moderated by WOO Measurement Consultant Gideon Adey highlighted some of the challenges of delivering effective Audience Measurement and Angie Cutter's panel on Transit Media highlighted many of the great regional developments in this growing category. As we drew to a close WOO"s Anna-Maria Pisano led a discussion on Women in WOO, a growing initiative to help drive change across our industry through inclusion.

So by all accounts Seoul seems to have been a great success. Our biggest and best Regional Forum to date. But as we say in English - no peace for the wicked as we move on to preparing our next event, London 2026!!!
