Tesco, the UK's largest supermarket, is pioneering the growth of retail media with its partner dunnhumby, itself a pioneer in the use of data to power retail growth.

Connor Chappell Media Strategy & Partnerships Manager / Tesco Media & Insight Platform brought his exclusive insights into retail media and the huge opportunities for Out of Home to the World Out of Home Organization's Europe Forum in Milan in Early November

He dived into Tesco Media's omnichannel mix to reveal how OOH integrates seamlessly into retail media strategies and showed how instore dynamics interact with OOH campaigns to maximise brand reach. He  explained how global data partnerships are integrating OOH media with in-store experiences, enhancing customer journeys from sofa to store.

As Strategy & Partnerships Manager, Connor spearheads the development of Tesco UK’s Connected Store media portfolio.

Connor heads up a cross-functional squad to assess the brand and customer needs within the store media market in order to develop Tesco’s store media suite. His work drives the advancement of the printed point of sale network, in-store radio, Tesco’s Scan As You Shop media solution, and the extensive digital signage network now established in store.

With over five years at Tesco Media, Connor began his career in the Media Planning team, gaining invaluable experience across categories such as Household, Pet, and Health & Beauty. His expertise has extended to international markets, where he has consulted on retail media projects for major global retailers, including Carrefour Italy, Oxxo Mexico, Majid Al Futtaim UAE, and Sonae Portugal.

In his current role, Connor has successfully launched Tesco UK’s in-store radio media offering, and digital signage networks in both the UK and Central Europe. His innovative approach continues to shape the future of the Connected Store at Tesco.
