Turn Your Iconic Screens into Documentary Stars for the 3rd Global “Essays for Peace”

For the third consecutive year, WOO members across the globe are invited to join Essays for Peace—a powerful artistic and media movement that temporarily turns digital out-of-home (DOOH) screens into universal beacons of unity on the UN International Day of Peace.
Essays for Peace returns on September 21, and it’s asking the OOH industry for the same simple, powerful gesture it has for three editions now: replace whatever is on your screens — for five minutes, one minute, or the length of a single loop — with the image of a lit candle. No logos, no words, no branding. Just candlelight, everywhere, at the same time.
If you’ve followed previous editions, you know how a simple, silent flickering candle displayed on over 120,000 screens in 250+ cities transformed urban landscapes from London to Auckland into spaces of shared reflection.

Why 2026 is a Game-Changer
Unlike the past two years, when September 21 fell on a Saturday and Sunday, this year’s International Day of Peace lands on a Monday! With full operational teams on deck, capturing and sharing high-quality photos and videos of your screens glowing with the candle flame will be smoother and easier than ever.
