Beyond the Big Screen – Daewon James Kim, PODO Media Network, speaks at the WOO Central European Forum, Warsaw 2026

Daewon James Kim, CEO & Founder, PODO Media Network – speaking at WOO Warsaw 2026

Daewon James Kim, CEO and Founder of PODO Media Network and WOO Asia Ambassador, will bring Seoul’s experience of large-format digital Out of Home to the WOO Central European Forum in Warsaw, 21–23 October, in a session titled “Beyond the Big Screen”.

#WOOWarsaw26

Seoul is home to some of the most recognisable large-format digital screens in the world — screens that have grown beyond advertising into landmarks and cultural destinations in their own right. Warsaw is now entering its next stage of digital development. Daewon’s session asks what the two cities can learn from each other, and why Warsaw’s starting point is an opportunity rather than a gap.

Drawing on PODO’s work in audience measurement and programmatic DOOH, and on the collaboration built around WOO’s APAC Forum in Seoul, the session looks at how a screen becomes part of a city — and how that brings tourism, retail and wider economic value alongside audience impact.

Beyond the Big Screen – the key points

Daewon sets out five themes for the session:

01

8,000 km apart – but more in common than we think

Chopin vs. BTS — definitely a different vibe. But Poland and Korea share many similarities: strong cultural identities, remarkable transformation and growth, and cities that are constantly balancing heritage with the future.

02

From screen to landmark to destination

Seoul’s large-format digital screens have evolved beyond advertising into urban landmarks and cultural destinations. Through examples including K-pop and BTS, Daewon will show how OOH can generate not only audience impact but also tourism, retail and wider economic value.

03

Seoul built first – Warsaw can plan first

Seoul’s physical digital development came first, followed by technology infrastructure, audience measurement and finally industry-wide alignment around standardised data. Warsaw is at a different and interesting starting point — measurement, industry alignment and the regulatory framework are developing while the next phase of physical DOOH growth is just beginning. This creates an opportunity to plan better from the start.

04

From event to trust and collaboration

WOO’s APAC Forum in Seoul was itself a product of collaboration, but more importantly, it created trust. Following the event, cooperation between the industry, Seoul City and government organisations became much stronger. That collaboration is now expanding beyond Korea and helping create a foundation for greater cooperation across Asia.

05

Beyond the big screen

The real question is not how big a screen can become, but how it becomes part of the city. Seoul and Warsaw are at different stages of the journey, but there is a great opportunity to learn from each other.

The real question is not how big a screen can become, but how it becomes part of the city. Seoul and Warsaw are at different stages of the journey, but I believe we have a great opportunity to learn from each other.
